Village Books is a nationally-renowned, locally owned, independently operated bookstore in Bellingham, Washington that was founded by Chuck and Dee Robinson in June of 1980.
What is the change we seek?
Village Books uses, and truly believes in the phrase "building community one book at a time." We seek to do this by making whatever contributions we can to the development of a healthy, literate and democratic society. We attempt to do this by building partnerships with numerous local organizations in a variety of ways-co-sponsoring programs, raising money, publicizing their efforts.
Why we became a Founding B Corporation
We became a founding B Corporation because we hope to learn much more about how we might accomplish our mission. We believe that the discipline of the process we be extremely useful for us and that the best practices that member organizations share will be invaluable.
